DeepSeek Just Insisted it's ChatGPT, and i Think that's all the Proof I Need

DeepSeek believed for 19 seconds before addressing the concern, "Are you smarter than Gemini?" Then, it delivered a whopper: DeepSeek believed it was ChatGPT.

This relatively harmless error could be evidence - a cigarette smoking gun per se - that, yes, DeepSeek was trained on OpenAI designs, as has been declared by OpenAI, and that when pressed, it will dive back into that training to speak its truth.

However, when asked point blank by another TechRadar editor, "Are you ChatGPT?" it said it was not which it is "DeepSeek-V3, an AI assistant created solely by the Chinese Company DeepSeek."

I can't state I disagree. In fact, DeepSeek's response was rather similar, other than it was not always itself.

I think I've been clear about my DeepSeek uncertainty. Everyone states it's the most powerful and cheaply skilled AI ever (everyone except Alibaba), however I don't understand if that holds true. To be reasonable, there's a remarkable amount of detail on GitHub about DeekSeek's open-source LLMs. They at least appear to show that DeepSeek did the work.

But I do not believe they reveal how these models were trained. In any case, I do not have proof that DeepSeek trained its models on OpenAI or anyone else's big language models - or at least I didn't until today.
